Our Health Partnership - who we are

The Board

Dr Vish Ratnasuriya – Chair

Vish

Like many local GPs, I graduated and  trained in Birmingham and have remained loyal to our local population. As a full time GP partner at Lordswood House Medical Practice in Harborne, I enjoy the variety that General PRactice has to offer, from teaching medical students to looking after a nursing home and doing baby clinics on the same day whilst enjoying the continuity of care for patients, a personal list system offers.

I am a GP with a special interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine, and look after a semi-professional football team outside the practice. More widely, for the last few years, I have been clinical contracting lead for the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and musculoskeletal medicine across Birmingham for CrossCity CCG.

Outside medicine I enjoy rock climbing, playing cricket, DIY, and can occasionally be found near a guitar. All whilst retaining a balanced family life, and I am particularly proud to be one of the few dads doing the school run a few days a week

Dr Kate Khanna

Board_members-95As a Board Member, I bring a lifetime of practical experience to the role. I am a longstanding, committed and transparent member of the partner-based model of General Practice. For this very reason, I am extremely enthusiastic about being a member of the Our Health Partnership Board

With twenty-two years’ experience as a GP partner, and now a senior partner, I understand the importance of accountability and honesty, and I thrive working with others both as a team member and as a leader. In addition to General Practice, my current clinical roles include Hospital Practitioner in Ear Nose and Throat at University Hospital Birmingham and GPwSI in Urogynaecology at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. I am also the clinical lead for Birmingham CrossCity CCG for Birmingham Women’s Hospital, a role that is indicative of my managerial ability, and a fundamental feature of any effective Board Member.

Dr Will Taylor

Board_members-112I have been a partner at Lordswood for eight years, and have a proven track record in my practice. My partners have put their trust in me to manage the practice, giving me a session a week of management time.

For the last four years I have been the clinical lead overseeing the contract at University Hospital Birmingham for Birmingham CrossCity CCG. This has given me insight into how services are commissioned and put out to tender. I have developed valuable working relationships within the CCG and secondary care which will be invaluable to Our Health Partnership.

I enjoy being a trainer, and I believe that our registrars are our future. I will develop supportive, developmental roles for our registrars to move into after training, creating a self-sustaining workforce.
